Very true Edge -we walked Drew (3rd kicker) because he's likely the best kicker in SoCal and we've joked that we'll walk him with bases loaded - Jimmy (#4) is a great kicker, but almost always a line drive kicker - so Sergio had our Outfielders come in - not only did Jimmy get all of it, but the wind was very much in favor (late in the day, right on the water, the sea breeze picks up dramatically) - tactical error on our part - we had our chances to come back but couldn't get the ball to drop - when I was walked, the kicker behind me (Cam Jones) is a high percentage 2-out kicker - bad bounce and he uncharacteristically snuffed it - I think Sergio also knows he probably shouldn't have kicked away at his 2nd at bat in the last inning - but when you're battling back and you're close, your eyes get big - i've been there -we were happy with our first day as a team, but we definitely gelled more in LSKO -

Even if he catches the 5 kicker roped on into center which would have cleared the bases of anyone left and it's pretty similar sitch

I wouldn't really say they had your number in the 1st inning. I don't get how that ball cleared the OF when bases were loaded. Definitely a nice line drive kick but you know with bases loaded, the cleanup kicker up that a kick is coming and that he's probably got a good kick. If anything you play deep and if the ball drops that side of the field, you get the ball in keeping the bases loaded, at worse maybe two runs score. Now you're looking at 0-1 or 0-2 with no outs, rather than 0-4 with no outs. That kick was the game changer.

Our ladies were money for us all day (check the highlight vids) - came through in big moments and honestly we wouldn't have made it to Champs without some of the plays they made (both offense and defense) during pool and single elims - Sofa had our number in that first inning - we've squared off against them so many times now in the past 3 years that they're familiar with Ryan's pitching - not so much Sergio's (Sofa doesn't play in Pasadena, and Tyler G usually starts in Studio for AKT - i know, convoluted, but the gist is that Sofa faces Ryan way more than Sergio) -

My guess is their pitcher was tired?

Great video. Loved the multiple camera angles, but would have liked to have seen a pitch count indicator. Field looked brutal.

By west coast standards both teams played lock down defense

Thanks for posting, great stuff. Great game, but man, a lot of sloppiness on defense.
